For beekeepers

If this winter runs wet, moisture is what hurts a hive, not the cold. Fondant is soft and moist, and in a damp box it adds water the bees did not need. Dry Drivert adds none. The cluster takes what it wants and the rest stays dry.

This is what Mike feeds across 30-plus apiaries in Silicon Valley when the fall flow ends.

For bakers

Drivert is the base for fondant, icings and glazes. It dissolves fast, sets clean and finishes with a high gloss. The 50 lb bag is the bulk size for a working bakery, with no membership and no pallet minimum.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I buy C&H Drivert sugar?

Right here. Genuine C&H Baker's Drivert in the full 50 lb bag – $70 for pickup at our Bascom location in Campbell, or $122 shipped with freight included. Order now and it ships by November 15.

When will my 50 lb bag ship?

By November 15. We may get it out sooner, and if we do, you will hear from us the day it goes. Orders ship in the order they came in.

How much does a 50 lb bag of Drivert cost?

$70 for pickup at our Bascom location, or $122 shipped with freight included. Each shipped bag travels in its own box.

Why do beekeepers feed dry Drivert instead of fondant in winter?

Fondant is soft and moist. In a damp winter it adds water to a hive that cannot afford it, and it can mold before the bees reach it. Dry Drivert adds no moisture. The cluster takes what it needs and the rest stays dry.

Can bakers use Drivert for fondant and icing?

Yes. Drivert is dry invert sugar. It dissolves fast, sets clean and gives fondant and icings a high gloss. The 50 lb bag is the bulk size for bakery work.

Can I order 4 or more bags, or buy for a bakery or a bee club?

Yes. One bag or forty, no membership and no minimum. For 4 or more bags, email beecentral@mnhco.net or call 408-641-7440 and we will confirm timing and shipping for the whole order.

Can I get Drivert sooner than November 15?

In smaller bags, yes. We keep 5 lb, 3 lb and 9 oz bags on the shelf, and ten 5 lb bags is fifty pounds. They cost more per pound than the bulk bag because we pack them by hand, but they are here now.

Questions we get.

How much is shipping?

Free over $50. Under $50 it is $5.99. Pick up is free at 3495 S Bascom Ave, Campbell.

My honey turned hard or cloudy. Is it bad?

No. That is crystallization, and it is natural. It is what real honey does. Set the jar in a bowl of warm water, stir gently, and it turns liquid again. Same honey.

Is it really raw and never blended?

Yes. Raw, and never blended. Each jar comes from the hives of one neighborhood or one bloom, so Saratoga stays Saratoga.
