MASTER COOKING WORKFLOW

  1. Start the Rice: Load your Instant Pot using the timing chart above.
  2. Reset the Kitchen: Use the passive rice cook time to wash prep dishes, wipe down counters, and clear the sink before serving.
  3. Simmer Glaze: Whisk hot honey, ponzu, sushi sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in the cornstarch slurry for 1–2 minutes until thick and glossy. Remove from heat and stir in sesame oil.
  4. Crisp & Steam Dumplings: Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet over medium-high. Fry dumplings flat-side down for 2 minutes until golden. Pour in 1/4 cup water, cover immediately, and steam 3 minutes. Uncover to re-crisp for 1 minute, then transfer to a plate.
  5. Flash-Steam Veggies: Drop cauliflower, broccoli, and cabbage into that same hot skillet. Add 2 tbsp water, cover for 3 minutes to steam in the residual pan oil, then toss with a spoonful of glaze.
  6. Assemble: Layer rice, veggies, and dumplings in a bowl, then drizzle generously with warm glaze.

Weekend batch version with gut-healthy brown rice

The Smart Kitchen Advantage: Pairing passive Instant Pot downtime with quick cleaning means your kitchen is completely reset before you even sit down to eat. And batch-cooking brown rice, then cooling it in the fridge, creates resistant starch – it feeds healthy gut bacteria, tempers blood sugar spikes, and reheated cold rice holds its structure perfectly against a rich hot honey glaze.
