East Bay wildflower. The honey that tastes like chocolate.
This is our raw, unfiltered honey from Alameda County – Livermore, Fremont, Niles, Pleasanton, and Hayward. A brown honey with amber and red highlights, thick enough to hold its own on a sandwich, with notes of chocolate that catch people off guard.
Why It Tastes Different
The East Bay forage is distinct from our South Bay and Peninsula honeys. Warmer climate, different wildflower mix, drier hillsides. The bees bring back something heavier, darker, and more complex. The chocolate notes are real – they come from the specific pollen profile of the Tri-Valley and southern Alameda County.
How to Use It
- Sandwiches – The thick consistency holds on bread without dripping. Try it with peanut butter or sharp cheddar.
- Marinades – The dark, rich character stands up to bold flavors. Whisk with soy sauce and garlic for a steak marinade.
- Blue cheese pairings – The bolder, saltier the cheese, the better this honey performs.
- Cooking – Any recipe where you want honey depth, not just honey sweetness.

Raw, unfiltered. Not certified organic – because cities aren't organic. Most bees travel only one mile from the hive – this is a true taste of Alameda County. From the last farm in Campbell, CA.
