Why Mike & Niki's Honey

Why Mike & Niki's?

Because not all honey is created equal. And not all honey companies are built the same.

We're the Last Farm in Campbell

Campbell, California used to be orchards and farms as far as you could see. Today, Mike & Niki's Honey Company is the last working farm in the City of Campbell. While the orchards became office parks, we kept the bees. Thirteen years, $2 million invested, and we're still here – still local, still independent, still doing it the hard way because the hard way is the right way.

30+ Apiaries Across Silicon Valley

Mike manages over 30 apiaries from Campbell to Carneros, Half Moon Bay to Livermore. Each location produces honey with a distinct flavor profile – a literal pollen snapshot of what bloomed in that neighborhood during that season. No two jars are identical. That's not a marketing line. That's biology.

Raw. Unfiltered. Real.

Our honey is never pasteurized, never ultra-filtered, never blended with imports. What comes out of the hive goes into the jar. We don't strip the pollen, we don't add corn syrup, and we don't cut corners. If you've been buying grocery store honey, you've been buying something else entirely.

Licensed. Inspected. Legal.

We hold a Permit for Food Retail (PFR) and operate as a Microenterprise Food Facility (MFF). We pay overtime. We carry workers' compensation insurance. We operate out of a licensed commercial kitchen at our Honey House on S. Bascom Ave in Campbell. In an industry where plenty of sellers operate without permits, without insurance, and without accountability – we do it by the book. Every time.

Community Is the Business Model

We partner with Hope Services and Special Kneads and Treats to provide meaningful work opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. This isn't a charity add-on – it's built into how we operate. When you buy our honey, you're supporting a production model that believes everyone deserves a seat at the table.

Bee Guild Leadership

Niki Canotas serves as President of the Santa Clara Bee Guild. She went from hobbyist to commercial beekeeper in a decade. Mike handles all 30+ apiaries – this is NOT a one-person operation. Together, they've built a company that's small by choice and uncompromising by nature.

Featured on NBC News

Mike & Niki's was featured on NBC News for our use of artificial intelligence in small business operations. A 63-year-old beekeeper using cutting-edge AI to compete with brands 100x our size – because being small doesn't mean thinking small.

92 Varieties. One Standard.

We produce 92 distinct honey varieties across formats from 2oz bears to 50lb buckets. Every one of them meets the same standard: raw, unfiltered, locally harvested, honestly labeled. Whether you're buying a $4 bear for your kid's lunch or a gallon for your restaurant kitchen, you're getting the same quality.
